• Avoid purchasing anything new. If I do purchase something, consider the durability of the product. Ideally, I would want it to last for a long time so I will need to replace it never or not for a while.
• Instead of throwing things out that I no longer need, try to find another use for them, give them to charity or ask friends if they could use them.
• Reduce the amount of toxic products I use. Research alternatives.
• Research companies that implement sustainable business practices. Purchase from these companies first.
• Try to buy only plastic products that are recyclable. Figure out how to tell the difference.
• Buy produce from the farmer’s market so I know that it is locally grown.
• Reduce the amount of garbage I throw out every week.
• Reduce the amount of non-biodegradable plastic bags I use.
That’s all I have for now, but I may add to this list later.
Inspiring!… Very admirable intentions with your New Year’s resolution… Pressure is good! You always found a way to open my eyes. I hope you’ll make it! And we should join you…
I agree! It is very inspiring. I really want to attempt at least two things on your list.
